Facebook has proven once again that the platform is not only part of the deep state, but also the all-powerful national security apparatus that has become a modern-day version of all-intrusive Big Brother.
According to New York Post columnist Miranda Devine, the platform has been spying on users and reporting them to federal officials if they express doubts about the 2020 election or any anti-government sentiments in private chats. And of course, all of the spying has been taking place outside of the constitutionally mandated process.
“Under the FBI collaboration operation, somebody at Facebook red-flagged these supposedly subversive private messages over the past 19 months and transmitted them in redacted form to the domestic terrorism operational unit at FBI headquarters in Washington, DC, without a subpoena,” Devine wrote, citing Justice Department sources who blew the whistle on the spying.
Said a source on condition of anonymity, “It was done outside the legal process and without probable cause.” The source added: “Facebook provides the FBI with private conversations which are protected by the First Amendment without any subpoena.”
Devine noted further:
These private messages then have been farmed out as “leads” to FBI field offices around the country, which subsequently requested subpoenas from the partner US Attorney’s Office in their district to officially obtain the private conversations that Facebook already had shown them.
But when the targeted Facebook users were investigated by agents in a local FBI field office, sometimes using covert surveillance techniques, nothing criminal or violent turned up.
Keep in mind that government dissent — that is, speaking negatively about a particular government policy, law, or action — was a specific reason for why the founders wrote the First Amendment, to ensure citizens were not persecuted for criticizing those in power. Conversely, it was against English law to speak out about the British monarchy.
“It was a waste of our time,” said one source quoted by Devine who referenced a flurry of subpoenas during a 19-month period following Joe Biden’s placement in the White House. The directive likely came from the FBI brass, which has been criticized again recently as being wholly politicized against conservatives.
Following the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol Building, the regime and Democrat lawmakers, along with their media allies, put out the narrative that what happened was an “insurrection,” the FBI’s ‘domestic terrorism’ caseload was supposed to match that alleged threat level. Only, as Devine points out, the ‘threats’ earmarked by Facebook on the sly never arose to any appreciable threat level. And of course, according to whistleblowers who spoke to Devine, all of the flagged personal communications were those of “conservative right-wing individuals.”
“They were gun-toting, red-blooded Americans [who were] angry after the election and shooting off their mouths and talking about staging protests. There was nothing criminal, nothing about violence or massacring or assassinating anyone. As soon as a subpoena was requested, within an hour, Facebook sent back gigabytes of data and photos. It was ready to go. They were just waiting for that legal process so they could send it,” the whistleblower added.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said in a fiery letter to FBI Director Chris Wray this week that whistleblowers who have contacted him and other Republicans are spilling the beans about an overly politicized bureau.
Jordan began by noting that as far back as July 27 he had written to Wray about “whistleblower disclosures that FBI officials were pressuring agents to reclassify cases as ‘domestic violence extremism’” even if the cases did not meet the criteria to be classified as such, and said that Wray had refused to respond.
“This whistleblower information suggests that the FBI opened an investigation into an American citizen — and deemed him a potential ‘threat’ — simply because he exercised his First Amendment right to speak out in protest of the government,” Jordan said. “It seems clear that this is an instance where an FBI employee reported something because it didn’t align with their own Woke ideology. I think this is a primary example of how woke and corrupt the FBI has become.”
The FBI needs to be defunded, not local police departments. And Facebook should be fined into oblivion.
